BOOK

The aim of Ramsay’s book is to compare transient and sedentry lifestyles, to compare Nomadic cultures with modern civilised city states.

Coming from a modern culture, Ramsay's journey has taken him from his birth place in Britain, growing up and being educated in a civilised society and then spending 18 months in the Metropolitan Police Force followed by 5 years as a Royal Marines Commando, to leaving Britain and pursuing a calling for adventure that lead to over a decade of travel throughout remote areas of Asia and Africa.

The different lifestyles of people living together on our planet fascinates Ramsay. From his first encounter of a different culture experienced on a Greek island, to meeting hill tribes of the Philipino mountain province. He has met remote island folk from the Indonesian Archepelago, herders of the Himalaya and bushmen of the African Plains, to witnessing millions of city dwellers in the hustle and bustle of Hong Kong, slums and backstreets of Calcutta, Delhi and Bombay, as well as a multitude of other ambiguous Asian and African habitiats that are cultural fusion pots of East meets West.

For the past few years Ramsay has been living in Amsterdam and organizing the Nomads Life project whilst scraping a wage together building houses and being a father to his five and a half year old daughter Skye. His original idea has developed with the input of various people and fueled his drive to find out what precious secrets the older cultured Nomadic tribes hold. Ramsay believes that 'awareness' is a key point to finding a harmony with ourselves and our environment. Of the places that he has traveled to he has observed that there are certain factors and consequences regarding the level of awareness people have of their surrounding environment which directly relate to the state of well being of both those people and the environments they live in.

“The more I see of our planet, the more amazed and grateful I’ve become at its seemingly endless giving nature and astonishing diverse beauty. The Earth that we all walk upon is the sustenance of everything, our physical, mental and spiritual needs all find their fulfillment in what our planet gives freely to us.”

International Publishers ‘Frontier Publishing’ has given an intention of publication upon the books completion. Also, a letter has been received from the office of the 14th Dalai Lama of Tibet confirming that his holiness will give his personal blessings to the book upon completion.

Early Quotes from the Book:

''Here in the west we are living a life that is gradually leading us and our pre-decessors away from nature and many of the precious secrets it holds that sustains all life here on our planet. These western societies are the fore-runners of evolution, and have evolved by an amazing capacity to achieve truly incredible things in science, medicine, technology, communications, industry, etc, yet the potential to do so is not confined to the western minds alone. The means to achieve is in all races and all people; every human being carries a brain that thrives on stimulous and will create and keep on creating in the image of its inspirations. There are some people and cultures who’s inspiration to create is not straight from the egoic mind; people that are living close to nature, much closer than their fellow man who’s amazing advance in their own evolution is threatening to sweep up all other cultures in their wake.''

"We were envisioning a trip that encompassed all the positive qualities we had gained from all our previous excursions; adventure, challenge, education, excitement, inspiration, that would have a positive impact and promote awareness into the nature and geography of our planet. The concept was starting to take shape how to realise it was a process that had seemingly already begun..."
